Thomas J. Boyle has built a nearly 30-year career of representing commercial, industrial and residential property owners in the challenge of their property tax assessments. Tom attains substantial tax savings for clients through tax assessment appeals, property tax exemptions, state and local property tax incentives, local government tax finance and related litigation.

Tom began his career as an Assistant State’s Attorney in the Real Estate Tax Division of the Cook County State’s Attorney Office. He went on to develop his practice representing clients on both a local and national level. Tom led the first successful real estate tax-related class action in Illinois, where he secured a $14 million judgment on behalf of 23,256 taxpayers in a ruling that was affirmed by the Appellate Court and the Illinois Supreme Court. Tom joined Crane and Norcross in 2019, having most recently served as a partner at Thompson Coburn LLP.
